Ligers Lose 4-2 Decision to Buccaneers
|
Barbe HS shortstop Kevin Alston had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Blanchard HS Ligers, 4-2. Brady Mateo, the winning pitcher, is now 3-0. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 0. The Buccaneers saw their win-loss record go to 18-9. At the same time, the Ligers fell to 10-17.
Barbe HS grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Alston, who is tied for 7th in the EL in triples with 2, hit a bases-clearing triple. His 2nd triple of the season put the Buccaneers out in front, 4-1.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Alston told the Barbe HS Chronicle.
