|
Central HS Wildcats starter Nick Morris was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the DeSoto Central HS Panthers, 2-1. In 6 innings, Morris surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Benny Glass earned save number 4.
Phil Mooney, the 18-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Mooney contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Central HS up, 2-0.
"I was a little disappointed," said DeSoto Central HS manager Roberto Mendoza. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Wildcats move to 11-17 with the win, while the Panthers drop to 14-14.
