The Kenai Traders downed the Whitehorse Explorers, 8-2. The hitting star was right fielder Calvin Brem. Brem was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Traders. Manuel Elías, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-5. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 2 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Kenai now owns a record of 43-33.
Kenai used the bat of Minh-Tong Wang to capture the win. The first baseman jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Traders ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Larry Martin.
