Capitals Come Back Late to Top Avalanche, 7-6
|
The Sitka Capitals beat the Angoon Avalanche, 7-6, at Capitals Park. The win was due in part to left fielder Adhamh Kawilarang, who went 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Nick Jacobson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Monte Paul was tagged with the loss. The 4th-place Avalanche have lost 5 consecutive games.
Tony Huffman, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2037 draft, aided the Sitka cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk.
