The Kenai Traders beat the Skagway Prospectors, 6-3, at Prospector Park. The win was due in part to first baseman Minh-Tong Wang, who hit 2 home runs. Kenai pitcher Elton Kitchens got the win. He's now 8-5. Norm Greer was tagged with the loss. Mario Luna notched his 16th save in 19 chances.

Kenai used a well-timed hit by Juan Jose Ventura to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Traders ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"Winning is the only objective," said Wang after the game.

The win puts Kenai at 58-44 this season.
