The Atsumi Autobots defeated the Kilauea Volcanoes, 6-1, at Iacon Yards today. Leading the charge for Atsumi was shortstop Yugoro Koike. He slugged 3 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring three times. With the win, Atsumi pushed its record to 17-16.
With Atsumi leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Koike hit a fastball from Alberto Valéncia for a 3-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Autobots ahead, 5-0.
"Good win for us," said Koike. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
