Hellcats Get Clonked by Knights, 4-1
|
The West Lauderdale HS Knights got a strong performance from pitcher John Carson, who stymied the Klein-Collins HS offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Hellcats Ballpark. Carson, now 2-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The save went to Héctor Gil, number 10 for him.
West Lauderdale HS relied on the hitting of Camrin Thomas to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Knights on top, 4-1. For the game, Thomas had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Good team win," Carson said. "I love it when a plan comes together."
The first-place Knights raised their record to 21-10.
