Bears Fall Short, 6-5, at West Lauderdale HS
The West Lauderdale HS Knights dumped the Winter Springs HS Bears, 6-5, in large part due to designated hitter John Mason. On the day, Mason was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Knights. Danny Branch, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3 innings. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Larry Banks.

Mason contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for West Lauderdale HS in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-1, Mason took a changeup from Steve Reyes and stroked the home run to right. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Knights to leap in front, 3-2.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Mason.
