A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Barbe HS Buccaneers and Palm Beach Gardens HS Gators.

Behind an impressive start by Brady Mateo, Barbe HS beat Palm Beach Gardens HS, 6-2. Mateo, now 5-0, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.

Barbe HS used the bat of Gregg Goodman to get the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Buccaneers ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

Goodman said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
