Sailors Knock Off Spartans at Sailors Ballpark

Left-hander Samuel Johnston mesmerized the South Caldwell HS Spartans while leading the Sarasota HS Sailors to a 3-0 victory. Johnston went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered no hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-1. The second-place Sailors now have a win-loss record of 26-21.
Nate Hoffman drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances against the Spartans. In the bottom of the first inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, putting Sarasota HS in front, 1-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Johnston.
