Kokawa Delivers Walk-Off Win for Physicists
|
Chatham-Kent Canada got a decent performance from pitcher Mike Russell, but it wasn't enough to beat the ETH Zurich Physicists. ETH Zurich won the ETH Accelerator Field contest, 4-3. Russell threw 8.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. The Physicists now own a record of 16-13.
Hidetada Kokawa was the walk-off hero for ETH Zurich. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Physicists third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This wasn't a good win," said Kokawa. "It was a great win."
