Pontificia Universidad Won't Make Playoffs

Jeff Summers, the manager of the Pontificia Universidad Padres, said his players are "devastated" to have missed the playoffs. Today it became official -- the club has run out of games and was mathematically eliminated from qualifying.
This is the club's 4th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2036. In total, the Padres have missed the playoffs 11 times in their 20-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Padres have made the playoffs 7 times.

Mules Sit Atop Atlantic League Central America Division

Prognosticators had a difficult time handicapping the Atlantic League Central America Division this year. And thus, it should come as no surprise that the division title hung in the balance late into the season.
In the end, the Instituto Politecnico Nacional Mules have reigned supreme and captured the franchise's 3rd division crown.
"Hopefully there are more celebrations to come," said starting pitcher Fernando Vega. "We could get used to this."
The club currently has a 27-28 record and will be seeking the 2nd championship in franchise history.
"I believe in this group and I think our best is yet to come," said manager Pablo Rojas.
