The Bellevue West HS Surge topped the De La Salle HS Myrmidon, 6-4, in Western League action at Myrmidon Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Bellevue West HS pitcher Steve Bryant. Bryant, now 1-0, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The save went to Manny López, number 2 for him.

Bellevue West HS used a well-timed hit by Adrian Miller to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Surge ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Bryant told the Bellevue West HS Times.
