Pineapples Collect 12-11 Win Over Fireflies
Lana'i City and Kobayashi slugged it out at Blacksnakes Ballpark.

A good performance from second baseman Hisashi Takeuchi helped the Lana'i City Pineapples defeat the Kobayashi Fireflies, 12-11. Takeuchi was 3 for 7 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Pineapples. Picking up the save was Kunimichi Takuda, his 1st.

Lana'i City used a clutch hit from Dennis McCamley to snatch the win. The left fielder belted a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Pineapples ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"It wasn't our best performance," said McCamley, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

After today's action, Lana'i City sits at 19-32, while Kobayashi falls to 32-19.
