The Castle HS Lords picked up a win at Field of the Lords, knocking off the Mankato West HS Reds, 5-1. Starting pitcher Lee Meyer was a big reason why. Meyer went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. His record improves to 1-0. Michael Nelson sewed up the save, his 2nd.
The Lords got a big at-bat from first baseman Edgar Davis. For the game, Davis was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Castle HS a 4-1 lead.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Meyer.
With the win, Castle HS elevates its record to 5-3.
