Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Lodi HS Devils and the Boone HS Matadors. Lodi HS won it, 2-1. Lodi HS starter Tim Fowler was in command. Bob Miles closed the door for Lodi HS, picking up his 3rd save of the year. With the win, Lodi HS goes to 4-5.
The Devils beat the Matadors with some clutch hitting. The single by Al Cross in the bottom of the seventh is a good example. With two down, Cross gave his team the lead, 2-1, when he came through with the big hit.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Cross.
