Thunderhawks Drop Nuggets, 4-3
|
The Tumwater HS Thunderhawks outlasted the Dakota HS Nuggets, 4-3, in 17 innings. Tumwater HS left fielder Pedro Gómez stood out with his performance. He was 4 for 7 with 4 singles and a walk. The loss makes Dakota HS 4-9.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 17th inning, when Tumwater HS center fielder Jim Copeland, facing Merrill Perkins, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Thunderhawks the 4-3 win.
"We did a lot of things right," said Copeland.
