Chiben HS Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Chiben HS Namami Samurai did just enough to secure a victory over the Port Lincoln HS Trawlers, 1-0, at Chiben Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Sadao Onishi. Marcus Bundy picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Glen Crutcher was tagged with the loss. The 5th-place Namami Samurai lifted their record to 16-17.
Kichibei Noguchi was the walk-off hero for Chiben HS. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Namami Samurai pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Noguchi described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
