Kailua Hanso starter Ching Yei was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Kobayashi Fireflies, 3-2. The winning pitcher was Yei, now 1-0. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. Takashi Nakai earned the save, his 4th, for the Hanso.
Kailua used the timely hitting of Rob Rutledge to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hanso ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Yei.
Kailua is in 4th place in the Hawaiian League Aloha with a record of 35-27.
