Rose Lifts Storks to 8-2 Win
|
Yasu and Shirakawa got after it at Field of the Storks.
Conner Rose was instrumental in his team's 8-2 triumph over the Shirakawa Halberds. The second baseman was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Yasu Storks. James Thornber got the win, improving to 2-5. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1.
In the bottom of the first, Zach Smith hit a 3-run home run. The 11th home run of the season for the Yasu right fielder put the Storks on top, 3-0.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Smith. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
At 20-41, the Storks are currently 4th in the Hawaiian League Ninja.
