Halberds Drop Mahi-Mahi, 3-1
|
The Shirakawa Halberds topped the Maui Mahi-Mahi, 3-1, with left fielder Abel Randall playing a big role. Randall went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Halberds in the win. Orlando Fernández, credited with the win, is now 3-5. He allowed no runs on 2 hits. The Halberds now own a record of 22-52.
With Shirakawa leading 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Randall hit a run-scoring single off Maui hurler Pedro Aguilar. It was the 32nd hit of the season for Randall and put his team ahead, 3-1.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Randall said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
