Tight Tilt Goes to Islanders, 1-0
|
Pi-ao Tsung never let Kochi HS get something going. The Zhoushan HS right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Islanders to a 1-0 win. Damian Moule snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 1-1 on the season. Jiao-long Zhu sewed up the save, his 12th.
Zhoushan HS took a 1-0 lead on Dong-po Lei's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Lei hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Kochi HS pitcher Jin Kurota visibly frustrated.
"I like our moxie," said Islanders manager Naofumi Hayashi.
Their 26-18 record puts the Islanders second in the Pacific Conference Pan Asia Division.
