Porpoises Win, 4-2, at Port Lincoln HS
|
The Port Lincoln HS Trawlers got a superb performance from pitcher Roy Pickford, but the Yeosu HS Porpoises still won the game, 4-2. Pickford threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The winning pitcher was Gregory Underwood. His record is now 3-3. The left-hander went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits for the Porpoises. Jeong Kang closed the game out for Yeosu HS, earning his 11th save.
Yeosu HS used the timely hitting of Michael Dalton to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Porpoises ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Dalton said.
Yeosu HS is 6th in the Pacific Conference Pan Asia Division with a record of 20-27.
