The Manila HS Water Buffalo had to overcome a good performance from Taitung HS pitcher Owen MacIlroy to claim a 2-1 win at Taitung Ballpark. MacIlroy went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Manila HS reliever Don Baladad picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Lorenzo Méndez shouldered the loss. The Water Buffalo now own a record of 28-18.

Manila HS relied on the hitting of Warren Gapasin to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Water Buffalo on top, 2-1. For the game, Gapasin had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Taitung HS manager Oscar Olson said following the tough loss.
