The Mankato West HS Reds got a good effort from starter Paul Johnson in defeating the De La Salle HS Myrmidon at Mankato Park. The final score was 4-2. The winning pitcher was Johnson, now 1-2. He tossed 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 2. James Miller earned the save, his 5th, for the Reds.

Chipping in for Mankato West HS was third baseman Manny Guerrero. He stroked a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, Guerrero was 2 for 3 with a double.
