The Horizon HS Huskies went down to defeat to José Félix and his Bellevue West HS teammates. The final score was 4-2 in favor of the Surge. Bellevue West HS reliever Thomas Lewis picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ed Spence absorbed the loss. Allen McGuicken, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Joseph Lee produced at a critical juncture for Bellevue West HS. It happened in the top of the ninth with Ron Bolden on the mound and Bellevue West HS leading 3-2. That's when the 19-year old catcher Lee drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Good win for us," said Lee. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
The first-place Surge have a record of 11-5.
