Matthews Leads Skeeters to 2-0 Win over Myrmidon
|
In a low-scoring contest, Yerington HS pitcher Joe Matthews was marvelous in his team's 2-0 win. Diego Rosendes locked down his 8th save. The Skeeters sit in second place in the Western League Northwest Conference with a record of 14-8.
Matthews was in the zone all game. He frustrated De La Salle HS hitters while giving the Skeeters 7.1 innings of quality work. Matthews threw 77 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 3 punchouts.
"I just try to put up zeroes," said Matthews, "and let the rest take care of itself."
