The Shirakawa Halberds did just enough to sneak past the Kailua Hanso, 6-5, at Halberds Ballpark. Shirakawa left fielder Stephen Spinks, in particular, had a standout performance. Felipe Guzmán snagged the win in relief. In 2.1 innings, the right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits. He's now 2-2 on the season. With the win, the Halberds have a record of 29-63.

The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Shirakawa trailing 5-4, Hogai Okada jumped on a 3-1 fastball from Jesús Bruno for a 2-run home run, sending the Halberds to a walk-off win.

"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Okada, "but we could've played better."
