The Waimalu Nene got a superb performance from pitcher Cristián Castillo, but the Yasu Storks still won the game, 3-2. Castillo threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Huibrecht van T Hof snagged the win in relief. In 3 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 2-3 on the season. With the victory, the Storks record now stands at 37-56.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Yasu designated hitter Danjuro Nakamura, facing Man Huang, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Storks the 3-2 win.
During his postgame press conference, Storks manager Jeff Cline told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
