Grizzlies Rally For 3-1 Win
Rocky Mountain HS and Castle HS played a hard-fought contest.

The Rocky Mountain HS Grizzlies beat the Castle HS Lords, 3-1. Rocky Mountain HS pitcher and Santa Monica, California, native Anthony Shirley led the way. Rocky Mountain HS reliever Rafael López picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Alonso Vargas was tagged with the loss. Don MacMonies closed it out for his 8th save.

Rocky Mountain HS needed the clutch hitting of Joel Leslie to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Grizzlies on top, 3-0. For the game, Leslie had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Every loss hurts," said Castle HS manager Tu-an Ni. "But this was a tough one."

The loss makes Castle HS 16-12.
