Torchbearers Beat Yerington HS, 3-2
|
Behind the hitting of Alex James, the Sprague HS Torchbearers stopped the Yerington HS Skeeters, 3-2. James went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Torchbearers. Sprague HS pitcher Bo Peery got the win, upping his record to 1-1. José López got the loss. With the victory, the Torchbearers record now stands at 14-18.
Chris Ball was the walk-off hero for Sprague HS. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Torchbearers pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's great to see the crowd jacked up," James said.
