Chatfield HS Beats Rio Rancho HS, 3-1

The Chatfield HS Mustangs beat the Rio Rancho HS Goats, 3-1, at Ballpark of Rio Rancho. Starting pitcher Reed Gutiérrez was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Chatfield HS now sits at 16-17, while Rio Rancho HS falls to 13-20.
Ken Sims, the 18-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Sims contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Chatfield HS up, 2-1.
"Nice win for us," said Gutiérrez. "Now we'll go after the next one."
