Lords Hang 2-1 Loss on Myrmidon
|
The Castle HS Lords eked out a 2-1 win versus the De La Salle HS Myrmidon at Field of the Lords. Nobody did more than pitcher Jonathan O'Dell. He was terrific. O'Dell got the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 8 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. O'Dell allowed 1 run. The 'W' lifts Castle HS's record to 22-13.
The Lords got a big at-bat from shortstop Carl Newman. For the game, Newman was 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Castle HS a 2-1 lead.
Afterward, Lords manager Tu-an Ni was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
