Lakewood HS wasted a solid 5.1-inning effort from starting pitcher Preston Townsend, losing to Mankato West HS, 2-1, at Lancers Ballpark. Earning his 9th save of the year was James Miller. Mankato West HS bumps their record to 15-21 with the win.

It could have been a different outcome for Mankato West HS, had it not been for Todd Crane, the 17-year old center fielder . Crane contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Mankato West HS up, 2-1.

Crane said he "would like to have scored more runs for Miller. But we'll gladly take this win."
