The Lakewood HS Lancers got a superb performance from pitcher Eugene Wade. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Boone HS. The Matadors won the game, 2-0. Wade threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Boone HS pitcher Manuel García got the win. He's now 1-0. David Richards was tagged with the loss. The Matadors saw their win-loss record go to 17-21. At the same time, the Lancers fell to 20-18.

Aurelio Escamilla hit a 2-run home run off David Richards in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Matadors ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Escamilla had 1 double, while going 2 for 3.
