The Dakota HS Nuggets relied on the hitting of shortstop Steven Johnson to stop the Lodi HS Devils, 5-3. For the game, Johnson was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Reliever Andrew Piper picked up the win. His record improves to 2-2. Jesús Alonso took the loss. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Nuggets.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Johnson hit a fastball from Jorge Vélez for a 2-run home run. The Nuggets, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
