The Wilson Classical HS Bruins and Bellevue West HS Surge were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Bellevue West HS Surge defeated the Wilson Classical HS Bruins, 4-2. Doing his part was left fielder Leroy Hicks, who was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Bellevue West HS has a record of 19-20, placing them third in the Western League Midwest Conference.
Bellevue West HS used a well-timed hit by Jesús Mejía to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Surge ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
