Chancellors Keep Streak Alive With 5-3 Win
|
Good production from designated hitter Franklin Pelletier helped the Chatsworth HS Chancellors topple the De La Salle HS Myrmidon, 5-3. Pelletier was 3 for 3 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Chancellors. Eli Nelson, the winner, goes to 3-3. He allowed 3 runs on 3 hits, with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts over 6.2 innings. Steve Baldwin earned the save, his 1st.
Pelletier contributed a big hit, a 2-run triple, for Chatsworth HS in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Pelletier took a fastball from Héctor Cortéz and stroked the triple to left-center. His 2nd triple of the season allowed the Chancellors to leap in front, 2-1.
"It's great to be on a roll," said Pelletier.
Chatsworth HS now sits at 27-16, while De La Salle HS falls to 26-17.
