Oswego HS Lynx starter Rusty Hull was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Lakewood HS Lancers, 1-0. The winning pitcher was Hull, now 2-4. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2. Picking up the save was Randy Lockhart, his 11th.

The Lancers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Lynx going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 17-year old right fielder Jesús Marrero came to the plate. Marrero hit a solo home run on a 0-1 sinker from Lakewood HS hurler Bill Hall. It was Marrero's 9th home run of the year.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Hull told the Oswego HS Citizen.

The Lynx saw their win-loss record go to 21-25. At the same time, the Lancers fell to 26-20.
