Physicists Squelch Mules Offense in Shutout Win
|
ETH Zurich used a superb performance from starting pitcher Piotr Lietzke to down the Instituto Politecnico Nacional Mules, 6-0. At 26-25, the Physicists are currently 4th in the Atlantic League Europe Division.
Johannes Daecher, who is tied for 8th in the AL in triples with 2, contributed to the ETH Zurich win with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI.
"Good win for us," said Lietzke. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
