Michael Simpson could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Point Grey HS Hounds lost, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Matanzas HS El Poeta at Ballpark of Vancouver. The winner in relief was Kai Callow. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Roberto Flores recorded the save for Matanzas HS, his 3rd of the season.

Zhi-xin Nao, the 17-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Nao contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Matanzas HS up, 1-0.

Nao called the win "a lesson in teamwork."

Matanzas HS, now 6-7, holds down third place in the Atlantic Conference Caribbean Division.
