The Matanzas HS El Poeta faced a tough opponent in Point Grey HS pitcher Ernesto Márquez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Vancouver by a final score of 3-2. Márquez went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Roberto Flores picked up the save, his 4th. Matanzas HS is now 7-7, Point Grey HS 6-8.

Matanzas HS used the clutch hitting of Francisco Flores to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the El Poeta ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.

"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Flores.
