Michael Simpson never let the Spaniards get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Hounds to a win, 2-1. Jack Meadows locked down his 5th save. The 5th-place Hounds are 11-12.

With runs few and far between, the Hounds had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Point Grey HS came in the top of the tenth inning, when left fielder Shigochiyo Suzuki delivered a run-scoring double. The double was hit off Ingo van Houten and made the score 2-1, Hounds. Suzuki went 1 for 5 with a double.

"This win should put a little bounce in our step," said Simpson.
