|
The Collegio San Carlo Kings went down to defeat to Gael Wenden and his Matanzas HS teammates. The final score was 4-2 in favor of the El Poeta. Júlio García earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 1-1. Roberto Flores recorded the save, his 8th.
The outcome turned when Chi-hyeong Yi came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Matanzas HS right fielder hit a run-scoring single. It gave his team the lead and helped them secure the win.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Wenden said.
The El Poeta' win now puts them at 11-11.
