Gonaives HS Slaps 8-5 Loss on Coasters
|
Axel Granier was a major contributor to the 8-5 Gonaives HS win over Nassau HS. The Revolution third baseman was 2-3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The winner in relief was Giuseppe Besson. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. Guillaume Oger saved it for Gonaives HS.
It could have been a different outcome for Gonaives HS, had it not been for René Georges, the 16-year old second baseman . Georges contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Gonaives HS up, 6-4.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Georges told the Gonaives HS Daily News. "You win just by scoring more runs."
The win boosts the Revolution to 13-20. The loss puts the Coasters at 24-9.
