4-1 Win Takes Rifles to 20-14
|
Starting pitcher Albert Burgess was a major factor in the 4-1 Eton Rifles triumph over the Point Grey HS Hounds. In 6 innings, Burgess surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Robert Cyric closed it out for his 5th save.
The Rifles benefited from a costly error in the top of the third. With Liam Rabbetts at bat and Eton leading 1-0, the Point Grey HS miscue allowed Eton to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
"We did a lot of things right," said Rabbetts.
The second-place Rifles now have a win-loss record of 20-14.
