Rifles Top Leopards, 3-2

Starting pitcher Masato Sato was a major factor in the 3-2 Eton Rifles triumph over the Strathcona HS Leopards. The winning pitcher was Sato, now 3-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. Robert Cyric collected his 6th save.
The Leopards had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rifles going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 16-year old left fielder Ellis Storr came to the plate. Storr hit a 2-run home run on a 2-2 fastball from Strathcona HS hurler Mitchell Spooner. It was Storr's 6th home run of the year.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Storr. "And not try to do too much."
Eton is now 22-19.
