Bricklayers Beat Guantanamo HS, 1-0
|
Bogaerts Bricklayers starter Tjakke Cleaver was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Guantanamo HS Diamond Cats, 1-0. Bogaerts reliever Miquel Baggerman picked up the win to move to 1-5. Rick Hillock suffered the loss. Kjeld Martin earned save number 12 this season.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when right fielder Kanne van Seggelen hit a triple. The Bricklayers went on to win.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Cleaver, "and then get after it again."
With the win over Guantanamo HS, the Bricklayers improved to 20-26.
