Coasters Win, Now 30-17
|
Nassau HS turned a good effort from starter Joshua Gunnis into a win over the Strathcona HS Leopards at Strathcona Ballpark. The final score was 5-1. Gunnis got the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 5.2 innings. Gunnis allowed 1 run. Quincy Goodier earned save number 2 this season.
With one out in the top of the third, Hisanobu Takahashi stroked a go-ahead run-scoring double. It was his 10th double of the season and put Nassau HS in front, 2-1.
"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Takahashi.
Nassau HS goes to 30-17. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.
