Round 1 Game 1 Victory for Bursill and Port Lincoln HS
|
The Port Lincoln HS Trawlers started the Round 1 in style today, downing the visiting Zhoushan HS Islanders at Trawlers Ballpark by a score of 6-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Trawlers right-hander Wendell Bursill threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball.
Bursill, the Port Lincoln HS right-hander, went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits. He collected 5 strikeouts.
Islanders manager Naofumi Hayashi did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Round 4."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Trawlers Ballpark in Port Lincoln.
